What is solar self-consumption?

The self-consumption of electrical energy through photovoltaic solar panels is an alternative
sustainable and profitable for companies and individuals. With electrical self-consumption systems, companies can actively contribute to the fight climate change and reduce your electricity bill.

Self-consumption allows consumers to have greater control over their production and energy consumption. The system used to produce, store and use energy
generated is called self-consumption system.

There are two types of self-consumption systems: those connected to the electrical network and those isolated. In both cases, self-consumption systems are an efficient and sustainable option for produce and use energy responsibly

Self-consumption with surpluses, connected to the grid

Self-consumption with surpluses has two modalities:

  1. Self-consumption with discharge to the grid and surplus compensation: the consumer uses the
    energy generated by the self-consumption facility and can sell the surplus to the grid electrical. The marketer will compensate the surplus on the invoice.
  2. Self-consumption with sale of surpluses: the consumer can directly sell the
    excess energy to the transmission and distribution network.

Isolated self-consumption, without surplus

In isolated self-consumption facilities, there is no connection to the conventional electrical network, which means that you cannot use the electricity from the network or pour the surplus into it.Instead, the electricity generated is stored in batteries for later use. With isolated self-consumption, it is possible to achieve energy self-sufficiency thanks to energy storage in batteries.
